Aurélie Bidermann Jewelry
I first came across jewelry designer Aurélie Bidermann while admiring a photo of her on the beach in Corsica on Garance Dore's blog. It's the perfect picture of summer. Complete with stacks of gold bangles and pops of turquoise and red threaded jewelry.
Garance posted about Aurélie a couple more times, including a video touring her beautiful Paris studio and collection. This may be when my obsession officially began. Since then I keep my eye out for when I can admire her pieces in person, like window shopping at Barney's, and do some Instagram stalking from time to time.
Not only does the organic, warm, feminine quality of her jewelry make my heart go pitter patter, but her personal style is great too. Simple, classic, and the perfect compliment to her stacks of bangles and layered necklaces.
Last time I was in New York I had a couple hours to kill between work and a date with my sister, so I decided to make my way to the beautiful the Aurélie Bidermann store in Soho. I found the store after a short walk from my hotel in the East Village, and arrived just as they closed. Whomp whomp. There I was, staring into the window, like a kid looking into a candy shop, trying to get a glimpse of the beauty it held. Maybe next time...
