Inspiring Women: Michelle Obama
“You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.”
As the recent election unfolded, and shock and disappointment set in, I found myself wanting to feel more connected to the inspiring women we have in this country. There are so many women who are breaking new ground, standing up for what they believe in and empowering others. It's easy to overlook this when we read the headlines each day, but these women continue to do great things even when the spotlight isn't on them. To give myself, and hopefully others, a dose of encouragement, I'm starting a simple series highlighting the women who inspire me.
I can't think of a more appropriate person to start with than Michelle Obama. She's the epitome of intelligence, courage, hard work, and grace, and she's served as light guiding us through the uncertainty of these last few months.
