We're Moving!

We're Moving!

We just did something that can feel nearly impossible. We bought a house in San Francisco. The experience has come with a mix of emotions: excitement, anticipation, an appreciation that this is even an option, apprehension, fear, stress, and at times feeling straight-up overwhelmed. Now that the papers have all been signed, inspections completed, and we're officially owners, the positive sentiments seem to be rising to the top. Our move is less than four weeks away, and the excitement of making this house our home is starting to sink in.

Here's a glimpse of what the house looks like today.

The previous owners bought the house from a family who had owned it since 1930! They've done a great job updating it over the last few years, so fortunately for us, the only work we have planned is cosmetic. We're going to repaint a some of the rooms to suit my more neutral taste, replace the zigzag carpet in the family room, update a few of the light fixtures with something more modern, and may someday upgrade the kitchen backsplash and fireplace tile to marble. If we can get to the paint and light fixtures by the time our little one arrives in a couple months, I'll be a happy camper.

I'll be sharing decorating inspiration (my favorite part!) in posts to come soon.
